LED line Indicators
Solid green
There is an active call on the phone, or the phone is placing a call
Solid red
The call is on hold, or there is an active call and a held call.
Calling
Making calls
Pick up the handset and use the keypad to enter the number you wish to dial. The phone will automatically dial any valid phone number or extension.
If you use the keypad to enter the number you wish to dial without picking up the handset, the phone will place the call over speakerphone.
If you are using a headset, either lift the handset off the cradle or push the HEADSET button to get a dial tone, then dial any valid phone number or extension.
Redial
Press the REDIAL key to bring up a list of recently dialed numbers. Navigate through the list, pick up the handset and press SELECT to choose the desired number.
If you press SELECT to choose a number without picking up the handset, the phone will place the call over speakerphone.
Speed dial
If you have added one or more favorite contacts (see Adding Favorites below for instructions on how to add a favorite contact), you can dial them by pressing the associated speed dial button. If you have more than 16 favorite contacts, you may need to press the LOWER button to access the second layer of speed dial contacts.
Receiving calls
Pick up the handset while phone is ringing. If you would prefer to take the call on speakerphone, press the SPEAKER button.
Rejecting calls
Press the BACK button while the phone is ringing.
Ignoring calls
Press the IGNORE CALL button while the phone is ringing. Other phones assigned to your extension will continue to ring.
Ending calls
Hang up the phone or press the END CALL button.
Voicemail
Checking voicemail
When you have a new voicemail message, the MESSAGE WAITING light will illuminate red and your phone will display a voicemail indicator in the upper-right corner of the screen. You can listen to your messages by pressing the VOICEMAIL button and following the menu prompts.
Call management
Call mute
Press the MUTE button to mute a call. The MUTE button will light up green while the phone remains muted.
Press the MUTE button again to unmute the call.
Placing calls on hold
Press the LINE button corresponding to the call you would like to place on hold. The button will light up solid red. Press the same LINE softkey to resume the call.
Three-way call conferencing
If you do not already have one active call and a second call on hold, press the LINE 2 button to bring up a fresh dial tone and dial the second number you would like to reach. When you have one active call and a second call on hold, press the CONFERENCE button to join the calls together.
Splitting a conference call
During an active conference call, press the CONFERENCE button to break the call into individual calls, with the most recent active caller remaining active and the other caller on hold.
Transferring calls: Blind transfer
Press the TRANSFER button during a call to place the call on hold.
Enter the extension that you wish to transfer to, and then hit the SELECT button to complete the transfer.
Call Park
Call Park will “park” a call in a designated parking spot. A parked call can be retrieved from any device supported by Ooma Office. You can park an active call by following these instructions:
Park a call – Method 1
- Press the Transfer button.
- Press the Menu button.
- Select Call Park from the menu and press the SELECT button.
- Enter the parking spot number and press the SELECT button. For example, dial 1002 to park a call in spot 1002.
- Wait for a confirmation that the call has been transferred.
- Hang up the phone.
Alernatively, you can use this method:
Park a call – Method 2
- Enter *1 to get a fresh dial tone.
- Enter *41, followed by the parking spot number and the # key. For example, dial *411002# to park a call in spot 1002.
- Wait for a confirmation that the call has been transferred.
- Hang up the phone.
To retrieve a parked call, you must know the number of the spot it has been parked in. Then you can do the following:
Retrieve a call
- Select a line or go off-hook.
- If you are using a desk phone or IP phone, dial *41, followed by the parking spot number and the # key. For example, dial *411002# to retrieve the call parked in spot 1002. If you are using the Ooma Mobile app, dial *41 followed by the parking spot number and the “handset” icon.
Call Flip
Call Flip allows you to seamlessly transfer calls between your extension’s devices. Flip a call from your DP1 desk phone to the mobile app by dialing *44 on the desk phone. All compatible devices on your extension will ring simultaneously.
Calling features
Do Not Disturb
Turn on Do Not Disturb by pressing the DND button. It will light up solid green while Do Not Disturb is active. Your phone will not ring for incoming calls until this mode is deactivated.
Turn off Do Not Disturb by pressing the DND button again.
Call Logs
Review your incoming, outgoing, and missed calls by pressing the CALL LOGS button. Redial a logged phone number by following these instructions:
- Choose the call log you wish to redial and press the SELECT button
- Press SELECT again to redial the number
Adding favorites
You can add a favorite contact by following these instructions:
- Press the CALL LOGS button to view your recent calls
- Choose the entry you will add as a favorite
- Press the MENU button
- Choose Add to favorites from the menu and press the SELECT button
- Choose the favorites slot to which you will assign the contact and press the SELECT button
- [OPTIONAL] Remove the favorites card from your DP1 phone and write your contact’s name in the appropriate slot to create a personalized speed dial list
Deleting favorites
You can remove a favorite contact by following these instructions:
- Press the MENU button
- Choose Favorites from the list and press the SELECT button
- Choose the contact you wish to delete and press the MENU button
- Choose Delete entry and press the SELECT button
Phone customization
Phone clock mode
Toggle the clock mode on your phone between a 12-hour clock and a 24-hour clock by following these instructions:
- Press the MENU button
- Choose Settings and press the SELECT button
- Scroll down until you see Clock mode and use the SELECT button to toggle between 12hr and 24hr
Backlight settings
Update the backlight settings on your phone by following these instructions:
- Press the MENU button
- Choose Settings and press the SELECT button
- Choose Backlight and toggle between the available options using the SELECT button
Volume adjustment
Press the volume +/- buttons during a call to adjust the volume of the phone’s handset, speakerphone or headset. Use the volume +/- key when the phone is idle to adjust the ringer volume.
