My calls sometimes stutter or break up
Voice quality depends on the speed and quality of your Internet. If you are concerned with the quality of calls with Ooma Office, please try the troubleshooting steps below:
- For best results, Ooma recommends that you connect your Grandstream ATA device or Base Station between your modem and router.
- Ensure that your Internet connection has a minimum of 1MB of bandwidth available per user. You can visit the Ooma Office Speed Test site to confirm your Internet speed.
- Set up QOS on your router by opening the following service ports in a DMZ: UDP 53, UDP 123, UDP 514, UDP 1194, UDP 3386, UDP 3480, UDP 10000-30000, TCP 110, TCP 53, and TCP 443. You may need to contact your router’s manufacturer or your Internet service provider for assistance.
- If your ISP cannot put your modem or router into DMZ mode to open the service ports listed above, inquire whether they can put your modem or router into Bridge Mode to disable your firewall. Ask your ISP for clarification prior to proceeding with this step.
