Installation error stating that Ooma Office cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified
If you are attempting to install the Ooma Office desptop app on a Mac running the Big Sur operating system, you may see an error like the one pictured below:
This warning appears because MacOS cannot verify that a third-party software used in the Ooma Office desktop application is free from malware. The manufacturer of this third-party software is currently updating their code to make it compliant.
If you are seeing this error, do not close the error window. Instead, leave the error window open and use the following workaround to install the Ooma Office desktop application:
- While the error window is open, visit the Mac System preferences and navigate to Security & Privacy.
- At the bottom of the General tab, you will see a warning stating that “Ooma Office” was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer:
- Click the Open Anyway button to proceed with the installation.
