How to prepend the Ring Group name to incoming caller-ID
If your Ooma Office account services multiple businesses or departments, it may be advantageous for an employee like a receptionist to know the specific business or department that an incoming caller is attempting to reach. Prepending the name of a Ring Group to an incoming call’s caller-ID entry makes this information easily accessible to the person answering the phone.
You can enable this feature by following these instructions:
- Log in to office.ooma.com as an administrator and navigate to the Settings page.
- Locate the Ring Group that you wish to manage and click the corresponding line.
- Navigate to the Basic tab and check the “Prepend “Ring Group name” to Caller ID” option.
- Save your changes.
Now, incoming calls to that Ring Group will display the Ring Group’s name followed by the caller’s name on the caller-ID of the desktop phone that is ringing.
