How to prepend the Ring Group name to incoming caller-ID
If your Ooma Office account services multiple businesses or departments, it may be advantageous for an employee like a receptionist to know the specific business or department that an incoming caller is attempting to reach. Prepending the name of a Ring Group to an incoming call’s caller-ID entry makes this information easily accessible to the person answering the phone.
You can enable this feature by following these instructions:
- Log in to office.ooma.com as an administrator and navigate to the Settings page.
- Select the Ring Group you’d like to manage.
- Go to the Basic tab and check the Prepend Caller ID option. Fill the Prepend to caller ID field with the name you’d like to add to the Ring Group’s caller IID.
- Save your changes.
Now, incoming calls to that Ring Group will display the name in the Prepend to caller ID field followed by the caller’s name on the caller-ID of the phone that is ringing.
