Calling
Making calls
Pick up the handset and enter the phone number or extension you would like to dial. Ooma Office does not require any special code to call outside of the office.
If you would like to use the speakerphone, press the Speaker key while the handset is still on the hook and then enter the number.
Redial
Press the Redial key to redial the most recent phone number that you dialed.
Receiving calls
Pick up the handset or press the Speaker key while the phone is ringing.
Receiving a call waiting call
Press the Flash key when you hear the call waiting beep during a call to place the active call on hold.
Switch back and forth between the two calls by pressing the Flash key.
Ending calls
Either hang up the handset or press the Speaker key to end a call.
Call management
Call mute
Press the Mute key to mute a call. While the call is muted, a light inside the Mute key will light up.
Press the Mute key again to unmute the call.
Placing calls on local hold
Local hold is a feature of the Fanstel phone that mutes the audio sent to the other caller. This type of hold bypasses the Ooma Office hold, so the remote party will not hear Music on Hold. Instead, they will hear a periodic beep to indicate that the call is on hold but still connected.
Press the Hold key during a call to place the call on hold. A red light will light up on the Hold key while there is an active called on hold.
Resume the held call by quickly pressing the hook switch or pressing the Speaker key.
Placing calls on Ooma Office hold
Ooma Office hold is managed through the Ooma Office system instead of through the Fanstel phone. Using this type of hold will let the remote caller listen to Music on Hold if it has been activated for your Ooma Office setup. If Music on Hold has not been set up, then the caller will hear silence.
Dial *0 during a call to place the call on hold.
Resume the held call by dialing *0 again or by pressing the Flash key.
Three-way call conferencing
Conference an active call and a call that is currently on hold together by dialing *3.
Break the conference call into separate calls by pressing the Flash key. One call will remain active, while the other is placed on hold.
Transferring calls
Blind transfer
While the call that you wish to transfer is active, dial *1. Dial the extension number, and then hang up the phone.
Attended transfer
Put the call that you wish to transfer on hold by pressing the Flash key and listen for a dial tone. When you hear the dial tone, dial the extension number. When the extension answers, press *2 to transfer the call and then hang up to complete the transfer process.
Calling features
Call Forward
Turn on call forward by picking up the phone and dialing *72. Wait for the prompt, and then dial the phone number that will receive forwarded calls followed by #. The system will confirm the number you have entered.
Disable call forward by picking up the phone and dialing *73.
