Ooma Internet Security Notifications can let you know how many sites Ooma Internet Security has blocked from reaching your household, and can also tell you when someone on your network has requested access to a blocked website. You can receive notifications via email and text message depending on your preferences, which means that you will always be in the loop about how Ooma Internet Security is working for you.

How do I turn notifications on?

You can turn on Ooma Internet Security notifications by following these instructions:

  1. Log into My Ooma and navigate to Notifications under the Security tab
  2. Click the check box beside the type(s) of notifications that you would like to receive
  3. Click Save to confirm your changes

What types of notifications will I receive?

You can receive either or both of the following types of notifications:

Daily email reports

Check the box next to the daily reports option to receive an update outlining websites that have been blocked by Threat Security, Safe Search, and Content Monitoring between 12:01 am and 12:00 am each day. Emails are sent at 8:00 am each morning to the email address that is associated with your Ooma account.

Access request notifications

Check the box next to the access requests option to receive an email whenever someone on your network requests access to a site that has been blocked. When you enable this setting, it will be configured to email the address that is associated with your Ooma account by default. Once you receive the notification, you will have 24 hours to approve the request.

Which types of notifications can be sent to an alternate email address?

Access request notifications can be sent to an email address besides your Ooma account email address. You can update the email address that these notifications will be sent to by updating it in the textbox, or you can add a new notification by clicking the “+Add notification” button.

You can delete existing notification email addresses by clicking the trash button beside the corresponding line.

How frequently will I be notified of attempts to visit blocked websites?

A report of webpages that were blocked by Ooma Internet Security will be sent to your email address daily.

Why didn’t I receive a Daily Email Report today?

Daily email reports are only sent when malicious or unwanted Internet content was blocked during the previous day.
