With Ooma Office you can set up any extension to forward calls to a cell phone or landline. Call forwarding can be set up online by an Account Administrator, and it can be set up by the extension’s owner using star codes on the extension telephone.

  1. Setting up call forwarding
  2. Disabling call forwarding
  3. Toggling call forwarding on and off

Setting up call forwarding

To set up call forwarding from your extension, pick up the phone and dial [*][7][2]. Wait for the prompt, and then enter the phone number that will receive forwarded calls followed by [#]. The system will confirm the number that you entered.

If call forwarding has been previously set up online by an Account Administrator, this will override the forwarding number that has been saved to your extension.

Disabling call forwarding

To disable call forwarding from your extension and clear the information about the forwarding number that has been stored, pick up the phone and dial [*][7][3]. You will hear a message confirming that call forwarding is disabled.

Toggling call forwarding on and off

Once you have set up call forwarding for your extension, either through the extension phone or online, you can toggle it on and off. To do this, pick up the phone and dial [*][7][4]. Depending on the previous setting, you will hear a message indicating that call forwarding is now disabled or enabled.

Note: Options such as “Simultaneously ring local extension” and “Require key press on answer” must be configured online. When it is enabled, call forwarding will use the configuration that your Account Administrator has set up in Ooma Office Manager. You can learn more about these options by visiting our “Call Forwarding FAQ”.
