How can I activate my used device?

You can check whether your device has already been activated by visiting the activation page and typing in the activation code or MAC address on your device. If the device has previously been activated, you’ll receive instructions on how to contact our Customer Care team to clear the device’s current settings and pay a one-time fee to reactivate the device.

What do I do once my device’s settings have been cleared?

If you are creating a new Ooma account

You can go through the activation and setup process as a new customer. Visit the Activation and Setup page and choose the correct device for further instructions.

You can find answers to many frequently asked questions in the Ooma Knowledge Base and Ooma forums.

If you are an existing customer

If you are an existing customer, you will need to contact our Customer Care Team to add your new device to your account.

Does a used unit come with a trial of Ooma Premier?

Yes! Once your Ooma device has been re-activated, a new two month free trial of Ooma Premier will be added to your account.

What is the warranty on a used Ooma device?

Used devices do not come with a warranty, as they have not been sold through an official Ooma dealer.

What is the difference between a used device and a refurbished device?

Refurbished devices are units that have been returned to Ooma and which have been restored to factory new condition, tested for functionality and repackaged for sale. Refurbished Ooma products come with our standard one-year warranty. You can learn more by reading our refurbished devices FAQ.

Used devices are units that have been purchased from an unauthorized retailer such as a friend or family member, or sites such as Ebay or Craigslist. Used Ooma products must be cleared of the previous owner’s settings before they can be used again and do not come with a warranty.

Important: Amazon.com is an authorized retailer of Ooma products, but this only pertains to products sold and shipped by Amazon.com. Products sold and shipped through “Amazon Marketplace” may come from unauthorized retailers, meaning that products purchased through that channel may be subject to a fee on top of the purchase price.

I bought a used device and it doesn’t work, what should I do?

If you purchased a used device from an unauthorized retailer, please keep in mind that you do so at your own risk. Ooma cannot guarantee product acquired outside of official channel partners will arrive in good working condition, or that you will not be charged a fee in addition to your purchase price if your device was previously used. We suggest that you address any concerns or complaints about your used Ooma device with the seller in order to reach a satisfactory resolution.
